Our beloved Lucio Mendoza Jr., age 69, resident of Kyle was called by our Heavenly Father on Thursday, March 16, 2017. Lucio was preceded in death by his loving grandson: Michael Alan Rentz Jr.; parents, Lucio Sr. & Rebecca Mendoza; sister, Margaret Rivera and Felicita Rodriguez; and brother, Joe Alexander Mendoza. Lucio honored his family and country serving in the United States Army in the 70’s during the Vietnam era. He was a strong straight forward, get the job done kinda man. Who was the strong rock of the family, He enjoyed watching Western Movies and loved his trucks. But nothing meant more to him than his family, especially the grandchildren and great grandchildren. We thank the Lord for giving him to us for as long as we had him….”we love You!” Your spirit will always be with us. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Lily R. Mendoza; son, Oscar Mendoza and wife Bobbi Riel; daughters, Cindy Mendoza and Raymond Aguilar, Michelle Mendoza-Rentz and husband Michael Alan Sr., Ann Marie Rivas and husband Sostenes Jr.; brothers, Henry Mendoza, Daniel Rodriguez, Johnny Rodriguez, and Manuel Albert Passarell; sisters, Gloria Salinas, Julie Gonzales, Lucy Castillo, and Alice Rodriguez; grandchildren, Alicia Longoria, Jo Anna Rodela, Angela Arpero, Damon Riel, Destinie Fonseca, Erika Fonseca, Erin Mendoza, Esteban Rivas, Carlos Rivas, and Michaela Marie Rentz; 9 great grandchildren; with numerous nieces, nephews, and other loving family and friends. Visitation will begin at 3:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 21, 2017 with Recitation of Holy Rosary held at 7:30 p.m., Los Angeles Funeral Home, 300 Cheatham St., San Marcos, Texas. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, March 22, 2017 at 10:00a.m. in St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, 801 Burleson St., Kyle, Texas. Interment will follow at Kyle Cemetery, Kyle, Texas. Serving as Pallbearers are: Michael Alan Rentz Sr., Raymond Aguilar, Sostenes Rivas Jr., Zackary Martinez, Joshua Martinez, and Damon Riel.
