Our beloved Luis Manuel Hernandez Jr. was called home on June 18, 2024, at the age of 30. Born to Luis Manuel Hernandez, Sr. and Belen Hernandez on April 15, 1994 in Chicago, Illinois. He was the middle child of three siblings and a beloved son, brother, father, and uncle. Luis spent the majority of his life in San Marcos, Texas, where he was well-known for his playful spirit and infectious humor. Luis was a kid at heart, always eager to find a reason to laugh and share that laughter with those around him. His playful nature and love for a good joke, even at the most unexpected times, brought laughter to many and will be dearly missed. Known for his dark humor, Luis often found ways to make people laugh even when the circumstances called for a different tone. He was a true friend, loyal and always willing to lend a helping hand wherever needed, a reflection of his generous and caring soul. Luis had a passion for collecting comics, action figures and cards. Pokemon and Transformers were a few of his favorites. His collections were a testament to his love for adventure and imagination. He lived life poetically. He loved thinking, and also loved to converse, engaging in lively discussions and deep conversations. He loved listening to music and of course, tattoos. Each one being significant in his own way. Additionally, he enjoyed playing Dungeons and Dragons, where his creativity and enthusiasm brought friends together. For three years Luis dedicated himself to his work with the San Marcos Independent School District as a bus driver. He took pride in his role, ensuring the safety and well-being of the children he transported daily. His cheerful demeanor and playful spirit were a comforting presence for both students and colleagues. He decided to further his education and in December of 2023 started Universal Technical Institute (UTI) where he was studying automotive and diesel technology. While attending school he was employed with a partnering Amazon company making fast friends along the way. Luis never met a stranger. He was quick to befriend and even quicker to make you feel like family. Luis had a dear friend, Cecily, with whom he shared a special friendship with. He cherished moments with her family and their bond was a source of happiness and mutual support, creating lasting memories that will be treasured forever. Luis is survived by his cherished son, Roman Mars Hernandez, loving Mother, Belen Hernandez, Brother, Frank Hernandez and Sister, Maria Esquivel. He also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews who adored their playful and generous uncle.He is preceded in death by his Father, Luis Manuel Hernandez, Sr., Paternal Grandparents Gabriel and Maria Hernandez and Maternal Grandfather Elias Munoz. Luis’s departure has left a void in the hearts of those who knew him, but his legacy of laughter and love will live on. His family and friends will forever remember his bright spirit and good times he brought into their lives. Rest in Peace, Luis. Your memory will always be a source of smiles, fond memories and the inspiration to live life with a playful and loyal heart. Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m, Friday, June 28, 2024.
