You’re looking at his picture.  That handsome face.  That strong physique.  His winning smile. As you hold the photo in your hands, the pain in your heart is magnified.  You see in that familiar, loving face the pain of what you’ve lost.  How could someone so healthy, so strong, be gone?  Oh, but look closer, My child.  See what I see---a life well lived.  A person of great worth who graced your life with laughter, conversation, love, and warmth.  Let that sink in.  The photo you’re holding in your hand is a reminder of the great blessing your loved one was to so many.  Wasn’t he one of the greatest people to ever walk the face of the earth?  Didn’t he bless people everywhere he went?  Weren’t you fortunate to have him in your life?  Your loved one was My gift to many.  And now, as you reflect on all of his goodness, it’s time to look at his many good traits in perspective.  Take them on yourself.  Become the person he would want you to be.  This will be your gift back to him and to the many people you have yet to bless in your own life.
