Obituary of Rosie Camacho

Rosie Martinez Camacho, 73, of Fentress, Texas passed away on Wednesday, November 14, 2018.  She was the daughter of the late Reyes Camacho and Francis Martinez.  She is survived by her six children shared with her late husband and high school sweetheart Gilbert Vasquez Sr.: Diana Turnini (husband Paul), Linda Rangel, Lillian Luna, Gilbert Vasquez (fiancé Debra), Richard Vasquez (wife Sandra), and Jackie Serna (husband Jesse) brothers, Rudy Camacho and Fred Camacho, and sister, Sophia Camacho and as well as numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  She is preceded in death by her parents, brothers Patricio and David Camacho, son-in-law Rudy Luna, and great-grandchild Angel Rangel.

Rosie was a longtime fixture at Herbert’s Taco Hut where she shared her infectious smile and unmatched personality with thousands of people she had the pleasure of serving during her 42 years there.  In February of 2018 Rosie retired.  Rosie was also an avid baseball fan, a love which she developed early in her marriage to Gilbert as he too had a love for the game.  This love was then handed down to her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren and from Little League games to college games you could always find her in the stands cheering them on.  She also love to cook for her family and the fellowship that came with it each time they would gather together.   Her devotion to her family was very contagious and she took much pride in all of them.  Family vacations brought a great joy to Rosie and she enjoyed traveling with her loved ones to /Corpus Christi, Las Vegas, and numerous cruise destinations.

Rosie was a devout Catholic and a member of St. Anthony Marie de Claret Catholic Church in Kyle, Texas.  Her love for her faith was handed down to her children and because of the unwavering faith she had her family is now experiencing peace in their hearts which surpassed all understanding.  Although she will be greatly missed, her family is following her example in respecting God’s will and will continue to honor her by passing on the love she came across.
