Our beloved Dolores Gomez, age 94, resident of San Marcos, Texas was called by our Heavenly Father on Friday, September 10, 2021. Dolores was preceded in death by her loving husband of over 50yrs.: Nicolas Lesa Gomez; sons: Juan Govea and Louis Govea; parents: Galindo & Antonia Torres; sisters: Teresa Juarez, Maria Ybarra, Bernice Pacheco, Emilia Selgado, Cecelia Rodriguez and Juanita DeLeon.; brothers: Casildo Torres and Rafael Torres. Dolores "Lola" Gomez also known as Mimi born and raised here in San Marcos. She was 1 of 10 siblings. Has worked from a young age from helping her parents with the animals, cotton picking and Brown School. Even after retiring.. She still worked up to the beginning of this year. She raised 5 children and grandchildren til her final days. She always received everyone in a caring matter. Although she hated taking pictures.. We got lucky and got her to take them. This woman prayed consistently over us. She passed away on her husband's birthday. What gives us joy is that she's in a far better place where with God's grace. We will be there one day. She is survived by her son: Manuel Gomez (Mary Alice); daughters: Josie Perales (Juan) and Susan Saenz; brother: Martin Torres; grandchildren: 18; great grandchildren: 36; and with other family members and friends.
